SERVICES

Information and Referral

Our information and referral service helps community members become aware of benefits, programs and services available for people with disabilities. ILSNC also distributes a newsletter to inform the community and our consumers about disability related issues.

Assistive Technology

We provide our consumers with information about technology that can assist them in their daily lives. Assistive technology devices include everything from Velcro strips and mechanical grabbers to voice recognition software and vehicle hand controls.

Peer Advising

We provide peer advisors who serve as role models and offer support in coping with day-to-day issues/problems and in social/personal behavior enhancement.

Contract Services

On-site evaluations of public entities for compliance with Title 24 of the California Building Code and the Americans with Disabilities Act Accessible Guidelines (ADAAG).

Housing

We maintain a list of available housing and provide information concerning rent subsidy programs, architectural barrier removal and adaptive aids.

Advocacy

Our staff is available, upon our consumers’ requests, to help empower persons with disabilities to obtain their personal, administrative and civil rights.

Provider Referral

We may recruit and refer providers for our consumers. Care providers assist with personal care, housekeeping, meal preparation, transportation or other needs.

Independent Living Skills Training

Our staff may help a consumer learn to perform various tasks of daily living needed for an independent lifestyle.

Blind Field Services

This program is for those 55 years or older who are experiencing vision problems. Blind Field Services can provide you with necessary information and technology to allow you to continue enjoying your daily activities.
